ABOUT PLASTIC COLLECTION

HOW IS PLASTIC RECYCLED?

Here’s how our process works:



(1) Collection: Plastic waste is collected and sorted by grade, with each grade being processed differently.



(2) Shredding: The collected plastic waste is shredded into small pieces.



(3) Washing: The shredded plastic is washed to remove any contaminants like dirt, labels or residue.



(4) Separation: The washed plastic is then separated by type and colour.



(5) Melting: The separated plastic is melted and formed into pellets.



(6) Manufacturing: The pellets are then used to manufacture new plastic products, such as containers, bottles, and other types of packaging materials.



(7) Finishing: The new plastic products are cut, printed, and treated as needed to meet the specifications of the end user.

CAN ALL PLASTIC BE RECYCLED?

Unfortunately many plastic items are not recyclable, and improper disposal of these items can have a negative impact on the environment. While the list of recyclable plastics is growing, here and some of the some of the types of plastics you can recycle with us:

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate): Used for beverage bottles, food jars, and other containers.
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene): Used for milk jugs, detergent bottles, and other containers.
LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene): Used for bread bags, plastic wrap, and other flexible packaging.
PP (Polypropylene): Used for yoghourt containers, bottle caps, and other containers.
